Tips

Write neatly in black ink on unruled white paper, leaving a margin on all sides. Photograph the page flat, in daylight, so the paper looks white rather than grey. The crop box above is locked to the 2:1 shape; we resize to exactly 800 × 400 px and compress into 50–100 KB.

Common rejection reasons

  • File outside the KB range (too big or too small).
  • Wrong format – the portal expects JPG/JPEG, not PNG or HEIC (convert iPhone photos with HEIC to JPG).
  • Coloured or shadowed background instead of plain white.
  • Face too small, ears hidden, or a cap, mask or dark glasses.
  • Signature in CAPITAL letters, in pencil, or on lined paper.
