What is PDF to JPG?
PDF to JPG renders each page of a PDF into an image using pdf.js, the same engine Firefox uses to show PDFs. At 300 DPI an A4 page becomes about 2480 × 3508 pixels – sharp enough for printing – while 72 DPI is ideal for quick previews and social posts.
When to use it
- Post a page of a PDF on social media or in a chat app.
- Insert PDF pages into slides or documents as images.
- Create thumbnails of a brochure for a website.
- Upload a document where a portal only accepts images.
Tips for the best result
- 150 DPI is a good balance between sharpness and file size.
- Choose PNG for text-heavy pages and sharp edges.
- Large documents at 300 DPI take a while on phones.
Limits and privacy
Rendering happens on your device, so very long documents at 300 DPI need a lot of memory. Encrypted PDFs need their password removed first. Processing happens entirely in your browser, so your data never leaves your device and there is nothing to sign up for. Files are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
