Passport size photo in India: 35 × 45 mm
India’s printed passport size photo is 3.5 cm wide by 4.5 cm tall (35 × 45 mm) on a plain white background – the same shape most Indian forms, ID cards and visa applications ask for. At 300 DPI that is about 413 × 531 pixels (our conversion, approx. at 300 DPI). For the Passport Seva online upload, the ICAO guideline asks for 630 × 810 px with the face covering 80–85% of the photo. You do not need to bring a photo for applications at a PSK or POPSK – it is taken there.
The tool above makes the 35 × 45 mm size: drag the frame so your head and shoulders are centred, then download the JPEG. For an exam form with a KB limit, use Compress photo to 50 KB or the exam photo and signature resizer.

How this cropper works
The tool above makes a 35 × 45 mm photo, the size used by the UK, Australia and Schengen visas. You drag the frame over your photo, then it is resized to 413 × 531 px (approx. at 300 DPI) and saved as a JPEG. Nothing is uploaded, which matters for an ID photo you would rather not hand to unknown websites. For other sizes, open the country page – each one has the right shape preset.
What this tool does not do
This tool only crops, resizes and checks size. It does not replace backgrounds, retouch faces or decide whether a photo will be accepted. If an online form also sets a KB limit, compress the result afterwards with Compress image to 50 KB.
Printing on a 4 × 6 inch sheet
A 4 × 6 in (102 × 152 mm) print can hold several 35 × 45 mm photos or two 2 × 2 in US photos. Print at 100% / actual size, never “fit to page”. Note that the UK says printed photos must not be cut down from a larger picture, and Australia asks for prints from a photo studio.
