How the resizer works
The frame is locked to the 3:4 shape of the official digital sizes. After you position it, the photo is resized to 354 × 472 or 420 × 560 px, and the JPEG quality is adjusted until the file lands between 40 and 120 KB. The result check shows each rule. This tool only crops, resizes and checks size. It does not replace backgrounds, retouch faces or decide whether a photo will be accepted.
Positioning tips for 354 × 472 px
The embassy example gives a face width of about 205 ± 14 px, 10–70 px between the top edge and the crown, the eye line at least 256 px above the bottom, and more than 60 px between the eyes. Leave a little space above the head and keep the chin well clear of the bottom.
